SDSU Aztecs vs CAL POLY Mustangs

Tonight I finally went to my first live football (American Football, not soccer :p) match. It was the opening season match between San Diego State University Aztecs and California Polytechnic University Mustangs at Qualcomm Stadium (home to the San Diego Chargers). My university was giving away free tickets so I decided to try it out and have some fun. I went with my friends from India, we all went there by trolley because we had a one day free trolley pass as well. Haha..Im just a big fan of free stuffs :p Which bummed me out later when we arrived at the stadium because they were actually giving away free football jerseys...but we were running abit late, so when we got there they were all GONE!! :(

When I first started watching the match, honestly I had no idea what was going on. All I knew about football was "touchdown". Haha..so at first I was just watching a bunch of people running on the field with a weird shaped ball and tackling each other...sounds like rugby..haha..

Anyways, later on my friends explained the game to me, and I really had to sit there and concentrate in order to get a hang of what's going on. By the time half time was over, I understood what the game was all about and started to enjoy it. The atmosphere was fantastic with all the fans cheering and screaming. They also had the cheerleaders and the band always pumping up the rhythm. It was really really exciting watching being able to have the opportunity to be apart of it. I seriously wouldnt mind going to another one.

But sadly my great fun exciting eventually ends on a sad note. The Aztecs ended up losing to The Mustangs 27-29. Everyone was really dissappointed because we were actually leading 27-26, but lost in the final seconds. Not so great for an opening home match, but Im sure there'll be more wins coming our way soon.

Alright, I know everyone likes to see pictures. So here are the pictures taken during my first experience watching a live football game :)

Go Aztecs!!!
