Part-time Life Saver, Full-time Friend

Event: Making Strides for Breast Cancer 2009

Woke up at 5:30am for my first volunteering experience for the fight against breast cancer. We had to walk for 4 miles around Balboa Park and also had the opportunity to walk on the freeway!! There were over 20,000 participants at the event and they managed to raise a million dollars towards the fight to find a cure for breast cancer. It was a great experience being able to participate with all these people and to see how much people care about the illness.
